A Conference on the “Challenges in the field of economic and financial crime in Europe” will take place on the 2 & 3 December 2014 at the Cité Judiciaire in Luxembourg.

The Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance (FDEF) organises in cooperation with the European Criminal Law Academic Network (ECLAN) a conference on the “Challenges in the field of economic and financial crime in Europe”.

The conference programme includes presentations by academics, defence lawyers, prosecutors as well as policy makers from various European countries and the United States. The various speakers will address cutting-edge topics in the field of economic and financial crime, highlighting for instance the impact of systemic risks in a globalised economy, the difficult detection of economic and financial crime, the role of whistleblowers and corporate monitors, the need for specialised investigative authorities, the difficulties related to transnational multi-agengy and multi-disciplinary investigations, the use of negotiated justice techniques and many more.
